Mason has an extensive business background including having owned McKinney Motor Company in Albuquerque, until 2002, and he managed all the Midas shops in town (and seven in Houston, TX).

On February 10, 2010, Mason was distinguished by the Department of Veteran's Affairs as a founding member of the Center for Veteran's Enterprises (CVE). And, as a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), All About Blinds and Shutters is qualified for contract work with the Federal, State and City governments.
